Dark Brown Chamotte Clay – 10 kg Pack
This high-quality ceramic clay is ideal for artists and makers looking to create durable and expressive ceramic pieces. Enriched with chamotte and manganese, it delivers excellent working properties and a rich, earthy finish after firing.
The clay contains approximately 20% fine chamotte (0–0.5 mm), providing added strength while maintaining a smooth, workable consistency. This balance makes it especially suitable for hand-building, sculpting, and forming medium-sized ceramic objects with improved structural stability.
Once fired, the clay develops a deep dark brown tone, with subtle variations depending on the kiln temperature. This natural colour makes it an excellent choice for decorative ceramics, functional pottery, and sculptural work where a warm, organic finish is desired.
Key features and benefits:
- Strong yet pliable clay body for easy shaping and modelling
- Chamotte content improves crack resistance and form stability
- Manganese enhances the fired colour for a natural dark brown finish
- Ideal for ceramics, sculptures, and creative clay projects
Recommended firing range is between 950–1050°C for optimal strength and colour development.
